Resubmitted Dates Added to Report Approval History

We have added the expense report resubmission date to the report approval history, giving Accountants and Administrators even more detail when auditing expense reports.

Previously, when an expense report was disapproved and subsequently resubmitted, the original submission date was retained, but the resubmission date was not included in the report’s approval history. This made it challenging for Finance teams to identify weak points in their approval workflows, and the specific users causing delays in report processing.

Now, expense reports that are disapproved and resubmitted will list the resubmission date in the approval history. If the report is disapproved multiple times, multiple resubmission dates will be listed. This functionality will allow Administrators to pinpoint the specific users who are not taking action on reports quickly enough, allowing them to correct the behavior and decrease their organization's overall time to approval.

Receipt Image Orientation Autocorrect

Occasionally, users will upload receipt images upside down or sideways. This may be due to their mobile phone’s internal settings, errors in the image metadata, or a variety of other factors.

Previously, when these receipts were uploaded and submitted, the approver was required to manually rotate the image. While minor, it added a few clicks for each approver, ultimately increasing the time it took to approve an expense report.

With the recent enhancements to our OCR engine, we are now able to automatically correct any orientation issues on receipt images, saving submitters and approvers a few precious seconds in their day and making the overall expense reporting experience a little less frustrating.

When a receipt image is uploaded to a user’s Wallet, our OCR engine will detect any orientation anomalies and automatically rotate the image accordingly. Of course, users are still welcome to manually rotate images if necessary.
