Emburse NetSuite Connector – Support for Custom Fields

For organizations that use the Emburse NetSuite Connector, we have improved the Connector to integrate with your custom fields from NetSuite! Supporting custom NetSuite fields allows you to further streamline the expense submission and reconciliation process, as well as further analyze your T&E spend in Emburse using the additional custom parameters.

The following NetSuite custom object types are eligible for import into Emburse Professional:

  • Entity Fields
  • Transaction Body Fields
  • Transaction Line Fields

Entity Fields will map to an Employee GLD field, while Transaction Body and Line Fields will map to an Expense GLD field. Once these are mapped, expense report submitters will begin to see the custom field options available for selection on their expense reports.

On export, the values selected on the report will be applied to the Expense Report or Vendor Bill in NetSuite (depending on your configuration), ensuring that no manual effort is required to harmonize the data between systems.

To get started with synchronizing your custom field data between systems, or to learn more, please review Import Custom Fields from NetSuite in the Emburse Professional Help Center.

Emburse NetSuite Connector – Import/Export Summary Logs

For organizations that use the NetSuite Connector, we have added a summary log to accompany each import and export record to make it easier to identify configuration issues with synchronizations to NetSuite.

Administrators will see a new Details column, part of the History tab on the NetSuite administrative screen. Clicking the Download icon will download a text file, which will contain:

  • Detailed information of any created, deactivated, or modified records from all of the applicable objects (Users, Departments, Expense Categories, etc.).
  • Specific error logs, citing why a particular record could not be created.
  • Warning messages that identify any potential downstream issues (e.g., a user was created but does not have an approver assigned in NetSuite, and thus will not be able to submit expense reports in Emburse until this is corrected).

Additionally, the export logs will specify which expense reports were included in the particular batch and their export status (success, failure, etc).

With these detailed logs, administrators will have more control over their data transfers and more autonomy to troubleshoot, identify, and self-resolve issues, ultimately leading to a faster month-end close.
