Flexible Approval Workflow

Flexible Approval Workflow allows users to select an approver when submitting an expense report. You do not need to assign a fixed approver or accountant to each user.

Emburse Assurance does not replace your approval chain. Your approval workflow still determines who reviews and processes reports. Auditors may add comments to expenses flagged by Emburse Assurance. However, auditors are not inserted into the approval workflow.

Enable Flexible Approval Workflow

  1. On the home page, select the Settings button (gear).
  2. Select View and Edit Policy.

  1. In the Approval Workflow Method section, select Flexible Approval Workflow.
  2. Select Save.

Submit Reports Using Flexible Approval

When Flexible Approval Workflow is enabled, you select an approver each time you submit an expense report. The system defaults to your most recently selected approver.

Select Show All Approvers to view all approvers and accountants in your organization.

Approve and Route Reports

Approvers can take the following actions after reviewing a report:

  • Forward to another Manager: Send the report to a user with a Manager or Executive role
  • Submit to accounting: Send the report for reimbursement processing
