Certify provides a translation feature, powered by Google Translate, that translates all text in your Certify account and the Certify Mobile app to your desired language. As a designated Certify Translator, you can create custom translations for specific phrases and words within Certify, visible to all employees working within that language.
This article shows you, as a designated Certify Translator, how to bulk-translate words and phrases by uploading an XML file to your company's Certify account. This includes how to download an XML file, make changes, and then upload the file into Certify.
Please Note: Changes you make apply to all users in your company using the specific language.
Step 1: On your homepage, under Translator Tools, select View and Edit Translations.
Step 2: On the View and Edit Translations page, under Search for Phrases, choose the Language from the dropdown menu provided.
Step 3: Click Submit.
Step 4: On the next page, under View and Edit Translations, three menu options display. Select Download Results in XML Format to download the XML file to your computer.
Do not change the XML format or the file extension.
Step 5: Edit the downloaded document as needed by entering your translation changes between the <Custom_Translation> tags. Save the file as an XML file.
Please Note: You must save your custom language work as an XML file in order for Certify to upload it.
Open the XML file in the text editor of your choice, and edit the file by entering your translation changes between the <Custom_Translation> tags. Once the edits are complete, save the document making sure to keep the format as an XML file.
Save the downloaded CertifyTranslations XML file to your computer. Open Excel and import the CertifyTranslations XML file. Once the import is complete, you can enter custom phrases and words into the Custom_Translation column of the Excel document.
When you finish customizing translations for your company’s Certify account, save the document as an XML file. This can require further configuration and mapping. You may want to work with your company’s internal Certify Administrator or your internal technology department. Once the file is saved as an XML document, upload it to your Certify account as shown in the next step.
Step 6: Upload the file to your Certify account. In Certify, on the View and Edit Translations page, scroll down to Upload Translations. Click Choose File to choose the XML file you modified.
Step 7: The file name displays next to the Choose File button. Click Upload to upload the XML file into Certify.
Step 8: You should receive a message indicating that your file has successfully been imported. Now, users with the selected language will see the translations you made in their Certify and Certify Mobile accounts.
Translations may take a few moments to become visible.
In Certify, users may need to do a page refresh in their account to pull in translations.
In Certify Mobile, users need to logout, then log back in for translation changes to appear.
Step 9: You can repeat this process for other languages in your Certify account as needed.
